What We Believe

We believe that God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He is one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with God. He lived a sinless life and gave Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins by dying on the cross. He rose from the grave on the third day to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven as our high priest and He is our intercessor with God.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world making us aware of our need for Jesus. He dwells in every Christian at the moment of salvation. He gives power to live for God and brings conviction of sin. He gives the ability to understand spiritual truth and guides in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved.

We believe the Bible is the infallible and perfect Word of God. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs, practices, and living.

We believe that all human beings are made in the spiritual image of God but are born with sin. Sin causes all kinds of problems and ultimately separates us from God.

We believe that the marriage relationship has been established by God as a union between one man and one woman. Sexual intimacy and sexual activity is appropriate only within the marriage relationship between one husband and one wife. We further believe that gender is established at birth.

We believe that salvation is a free gift, and it cannot be inherited or earned. We are saved when we choose to turn from a self-ruled life to trusting Jesus as our Lord and Master.

We believe that certainty (assurance) of salvation is received through Jesus Christ. The true believer is secure in their salvation. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by self-effort.

We believe that the church is composed of all true followers of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the head of the church and every follower of Christ is a unique part of the church (the body of Christ) being called to love and serve one another. For each local gathering, He has given authority and leaders for administering that worship, order, discipline, and the spread of the gospel as He has commanded in the Bible.

We believe that Heaven and Hell are real places. All those who die in Christ by faith will experience eternity with God in Heaven. All those who die apart from Christ will be separated from God in Hell for all eternity.
