The Message or the Miracle Week 8
This sermon challenges believers to move beyond simply accepting Jesus as Messiah and experiencing the miracle of salvation. The pastor walks through the full arc of the gospel, from identifying Jesus through fulfilled prophecy, to repentance and reconciliation, to being filled with the Holy Spirit's explosive power (Dunamis) for a specific purpose. That purpose is not just personal transformation but active participation in expanding God's kingdom by sharing the message of repentance and reconciliation with the world. Pastor Sam also draws a sharp contrast between the first-century model of the church that Jesus established, centered on relational discipleship and sending people out, and the institutional model that emerged after Constantine in 324 AD. Using the analogy of Sears versus Amazon, he calls the church to return to a distribution-center mindset rather than a box-store approach, equipping and sending believers into the world rather than simply drawing people into a building. The core conviction is that the Holy Spirit was given not merely to help us be better people, but to empower us to fulfill the Great Commission in every corner of the earth.
