The Message or The Miracle Week 3
This sermon addresses the dangerous cycle of seeking God for miracles rather than His message. Using
the Israelites' journey from Egypt as the primary example, Pastor Jordan illustrates how people often cry out to God during oppression, receive His deliverance and blessings, but then quickly return to doubt and
complaint when facing new challenges. The Israelites repeatedly complained about God's provision - first about water, then about food - despite witnessing incredible miracles like the parting of the Red Sea and daily manna from heaven. This
pattern reveals a heart focused on what God can do rather than who God is. The sermon warns that constantly craving something beyond God's provision can lead to receiving what we desire as a curse rather than a blessing, as happened when God gave the Israelites meat until it became
detestable to them. The key message is that Jesus, as the bread of life, is enough for every situation. When we focus on God's message and promises rather than seeking miracles, we can break free from the
destructive cycle of spiritual dependency that only seeks God during emergencies.
